Our housing advice service offers support to people who have been living in the city of Bern for at least two years and are looking for a place to live.

The Housing Counceling Service in Bern supports people affected by poverty in their search for suitable living space, in signing rental contracts and in keeping their own apartment. Together, we will find out how we can help and, if necessary, refer you to other services.
Our counseling complements the services offered by our supervised accommodation and ensures that people experiencing housing difficulties are not alone.

Our offer

Counceling office
with walk-in

Simply come by and get help with your housing search, with or without an appointment. At the initial contact, we will clarify the situation and arrange further appointments as needed.

Arrangement of rent guarantees

We will help you finance a rent deposit, even if you do not have the necessary funds.

Empowerment and training

Our team helps you with the handover of flats, moving out or topics like thriftiness, so that you become able to act independently.

Costs

Our counseling is subject to a fee. The city of Bern covers the fees for people with low income.
